Ruby on Rails

  A well-designed dynamic website, integrated with a relevant database, is a powerful marketing tool.

The Libre Group team, together with their affiliated partners, can also implement the entire project, completely managing all the requirements including hardware, hosting, and training. Ruby on Rails is an open source web framework that facilitates the creation of interactive websites. It's an exciting new methodology that is becoming increasingly popular.

Althgough the site itself is somewhat larger than this, it's for a private intranet for a major multistate real-estate company - this is just an excerpt of the site. The site shows:

• Ajax throughout for responsive, interactive feel
• Full CSS-based layout and presentation
• Nice "Greenbar/greybar" grid with full auto-pagination
• Inline collapsing/expanding show & edit forms, aka "Master-detail"
• "Live" search using Ajax
• Click-on column sorting, live with Ajax
• Full CRUD (Create, Read, Update, Delete) implementation

The backend is a Postgres 8.x database which we've also written scripts to do offline loads of, from a web-based data repository. It's deployed on an Apache 2 server, using Zed Shaw's SGCI gateway, and an Apache virtual host, to RoR 1.2.3.
